Fax Letter Received September 11, 2008
Dear David and Office:
Out of tremendous appreciation I wanted [to] take time to write to you and convey my current situation financially and personally following the bankruptcy filing you did for me. Please feel free to and I hope you will share this with your colleagues and staff since they also played an important role throughout the entire process. As well if you feel any clients or potential clients would benefit from reading about my experience you may, with your discretion, share this also so that it may be of some benefit at their time of difficulty.
Especially since at the time of facing and dealing with my insurmountable indebtedness I can vividly recollect that I could not imagine, in a positive way, any future time where this would be behind me and life would seem good. I guess that's because, in looking back, it had been such a long time, while I was acquiring debt, that life really had not been 'that great'. As well, my specific situation as I have learned was quite challenging. Especially in my desire to keep a cherished classic automobile that I'd had since I was 20 years old (not that I had a right to be able to keep it). All this being quite burdensome despite receiving tremendous support and expertise from you and your colleagues and staff. It's probably the nature of the 'beast'.
All that being said I am indescribably happy to tell you about my current situation including the project of putting in an offer on a house. Due to my limited abilities in business and extremely high costs I've always had doubts whether I would be able to do this. I really believe that it's the momentum I've attained from the relief from my debt that is what is responsible. No kidding.
My business has increased almost 50% each year and looks like it may even double this year only three years after my discharge. Perhaps even more important to me is how much more I enjoy my profession now! You can't put a dollar value on that. I fee like I don't 'have to' work anymore and that I'm working because I want to and because I like it. And, as you would imagine, and seems to be continually improving with no limit in sight. And that to me is very exciting! I often hear that people, especially in my profession, don't enjoy their work, and have even had to stop, or worse, unfortunately. And I realize that I might have been one of them, too, had it not been for you and all your abilities and creativity.
Again, thank you, David and all of your associates, for your service and expertise. I feel like you are, as well, part of a 'health care' or medical profession because you have had a profound effect on the quality of my life and, who knows, even my overall health, I'm sure. If I can ever return the favor I will do so.
Sincerely,
Doctor David, Beverly Hills, California

Good Morning David!

Again, I don't know how many clients take the time to say thank you - but please know that you were a huge help in what was for me a major life experience and the best thing I could have done.

David,
Thanks for the information, and for giving my mother a cost break for your services! I talked to her this morning. She is very grateful for your help and looking forward to paying as much as she can to secure the final process of her case. I can't tell you how grateful I am for Patrick's intervention on my mother's behalf, and for finding such a delightful individual as yourself to work with.
I've made her promise that she will use a little of her freedom from debtor's prison, to dedicate a little income toward joining a group of seniors for nature walks… to nurture herself and her new found freedom. This opportunity to guide her on a path of self renewal is something that I have waited for, for 40 years. And, to my surprise, she wants to go on her very own Soul Quest Encounter with me, as soon as I complete the next revision of my book. Something that I hope, will rekindle her spiritual wonder and enrich her soul, through the remaining days of her life.
With much joy and appreciation,
Lauren, Denver, Colorado

Note Dated November 25, 2007
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wanted to write you a quick note telling you how thankful I am that you took care of Mr. X and his frivolous lawsuits. As you know the entire story and the outcome this has been a very truly trying time for my family. Everything you have done is greatly appreciated and I just wanted you to know that I do notice when people take care of me and my family. Take care and have a great weekend.

Letter dated July 16, 2003
From: Chambers of Samuel L. Bufford, Bankruptcy Judge, Central District of California
Dear Mr. Tilem:
I am writing to express my appreciation for the fine job you did in the hearing on May 19, which was attended by nearly 100 judges from approximately 60 countries throughout the world. The judges from around the world were fascinated with the hearing that morning, and there was much talk about it throughout the week of the World Bank Global Insolvency Forum. Your participation that morning made a very substantial contribution to the success of the visit by the judges to the Los Angeles bankruptcy court.
Thank you again.
Very truly yours,
Samuel L. Bufford
